Second-Gen of Arcserve Unified Data Protection Appliance Series

Arcserve, LLC announced its second-generation Unified Data Protection (UDP) appliance series, a deployable purpose-built backup appliance (PBBA).

Integrated with the company’s UDP software, this appliance series simplifies DR for small or over-stretched IT teams that want a ‘set and forget,’ yet enterprise-grade data protection solution.

Second-generation appliances will mitigate data growth challenges
and optimize performance with:

• Expandable storage capacity to protect up to 240TB of raw source data

• Enhanced hardware features for enterprise-grade resiliency

• Support for public cloud services and the firm’s cloud for a complete, offsite backup and DR solution and DR as a service (DRaaS) option

• Deduplication to reduce redundant storage

• Simple, wizard-driven setup for ease of use, often deployable in 15 minutes or less

• Robust capabilities including on-appliance virtual standby, instant failover and bare metal recovery (BMR), HA and multi-site WAN-optimized replication

This release augments the company’s first-generation appliance offering, which underscored a 4,900% growth in sales over the past year. Combined, the firm offers 16 appliance models that make it a platform for organizations looking for an deployable, yet powerful all-in-one data protection solution.

For partners and MSPs looking to expand their data protection portfolio, this series offers a breadth of storage capacity to meet the needs of any size organization. UDP Appliances are interoperable with existing UDP software deployments without the need for additional licenses, and are an all-in-one system for branch or decentralized offices or as the backup, deduplication, DR and cloud gateway appliance for primary locations.

This UDP Appliance series will be available in early November of this year, with field expansion capabilities, such as the ability to expand storage in-place without changing systems, broadly available in 2017.
