Datec Selects Nimble Storage AF-Series All Flash Arrays
After SanDisk began discontinuing larger capacity FusionIO cards
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 4, 2016 at 2:37 pmNimble Storage, Inc., in predictive flash storage, announced that Datec, Inc., a provider of network and data solutions, has experienced accelerated momentum with the Nimble Storage AF-Series All Flash Arrays, resulting in deployments following competitive evaluations.
Most recently, Datec led a proof of concept (POC) for a video game developer evaluating flash storage providers. The customer selected a Nimble AF9000 All Flash array, which delivered performance that outpaced competitive solutions.
“We have worked with Nimble Storage as a channel partner for more than six years, and with the addition of Nimble’s All Flash array, the company has met a growing market demand for all-flash storage. We are finding opportunities to bring in Nimble’s All Flash array in more competitive POCs,” said Cliff McElroy, president, Datec. “The Nimble Adaptive Flash arrays have been known for ease of use and speed in head-to-head evaluations, and we’re seeing the same results with the All-Flash array. What stands out most is that Nimble’s support team really shined in the POC for a leading game developer. The support team responded to every scenario presented until the customer was completely set up and self-sufficient. This remains a major reason why Nimble continues to win over intense competition.“
The gaming developer company began its search for a storage infrastructure provider after SanDisk began discontinuing its larger capacity FusionIO cards. During the POC phase, Nimble proved to have superior all flash arrays when compared to competition, with R/W speeds nearly two times as fast as FusionIO. Additionally, Nimble was offering reporting capabilities through InfoSight, its predictive analytics engine, providing the customer with insight into its storage environment and validating performance and capacity numbers in real time.
Unlike competitive solutions, the Nimble All Flash array provides benefits including speed, by giving users the most reliable access to data through predictive analytics embedded in a unified flash fabric. InfoSight Predictive Analytics provides visibility across the entire application-to-storage stack, analyzing millions of data points every day to predict and prevent issues.
Enterprises such as the gaming developer are impressed by Nimble’s automated support model, removing lengthy customer support cycles to solve issues.
“We’ve seen tremendous momentum within our channel ecosystem recently,” said Leonard Iventosch, VP of WW channels, Nimble Storage. “Datec has been an important channel partner for years, and does an exceptional job identifying customers that can benefit from the speed, performance and real-time insights offered by our Predictive All Flash array, and we look forward to building on this traction.“
