Only one short sentence on storage ...
By Jean Jacques Maleval | September 8, 2016 at 3:02 pmDell’s acquisition of EMC transaction, a $67 billion deal, closed on September 7, 2016. This combination creates a $74 billion computer giant.
At the same time, the new entity, Dell Technologies, published its 2FQ17 financial results ended June 29, 2016.
There was no earnings call by the private company and the only sentence we found on its storage business was: “Dell Storage SC product line revenue grew 13%.“
This line was formerly Compellent arrays and is one of the most successful if not the most successful Dell’s storage line.
This means that its global storage revenue is probably continuing to decrease.
Of course, with the addition of EMC, storage sales will greatly increase but we will have to check if the addition will be higher that the storage business of each two companies before the acquisition.
It will be surprising because EMC storage sales were not significantly growing these past quarters.
Last public figures for storage revenue were $557 million in 2FQ16 for Dell and $3,347 million for EMC for 1FQ16 ended in March 2016.
For the quarter Dell Technologies’ enterprise solutions group revenue was $3.8 billion, unchanged year-over-year. Servers and networking revenue grew 1% Y/Y.
