SEP Software Supporting Red Hat Virtualization 4.0

SEP Software Corp., a vendor of platform-independent, backup and DR solutions for unified data protection, announced its support for Red Hat Virtualization 4.0 and the availability of an API-driven snapshot backup solution for the RHV 4.0.

The combination of Red Hat Virtualization’s backup API with SEP’s backup solution offers more consistent data protection, as well as the compliant recovery of VMs in productive IT environments. The integrated solution offers a platform for IT-administrators utilizing the SEP management interface to monitor the data protection status of the entire IT infrastructure. SEP supports Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization versions 3.5.1 and later.

SEP’s backup solution offers greater data protection and gives fast and intuitive restore capabilities for VM’s virtualized on Red Hat without the need to install backup clients on each VM. Special DR procedures are no longer required. RTOs and RPOs can be fulfilled. One key advantage of the data protection platform is the optional command line interface that enables customized administration of the backup and restore processes in an enterprise environment. Backup and restore specifications of various database and application vendors can be fulfilled by installing SEP’s portfolio of certified backup agents.
