RackTop Systems, Inc. announced that Mike Wall, former chairman and CEO of Amplidata, has joined the company’s executive advisory board.
He will advise the company on product strategy, partner alliances, and strategic fundraising initiatives.
During his tenure at Amplidata, he transformed the company into a leading object storage software company and led its eventual sale to Western Digital in March 2015. Prior to Amplidata, he was president and CEO of storage innovator Atempo (acquired by Allen Systems Group). As GM of Intel‘s storage group, he led the industry’s transition from special purpose hardware based storage to systems designed with commodity microprocessors and chipsets. He also served as GM of Intel’s supercomputer systems division, where he led the introduction of Intel’s X86 architecture into the HPC market.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his Masters of Management Sciences, Averill Harriman College for Urban and Policy Sciences, at SUNY Stony Brook.
“I’m very excited to have Mike as part of the team,” said Eric Bednash, CEO. “He has deep roots in the data storage industry, and his leadership in business operations and prior investment experience are already making a big impact on the company.”
“The team and technology at RackTop are first rate,” said Wall. “I am impressed by how they’ve encapsulated data management, governance, and cloud storage into a unified tier 1 storage solution. Most exciting are the game changing new technologies that they have in development.“
