Technology
Envemio has created a new way to bring I/O and intelligence to next-gen platforms that leverage the NVMe standard. Its patent-pending BayLynx architecture frees networking from the confines of standard PCIe cards and leverages NMVe connect I/O bays to provide scalability, open protocol, network management and end-point analytics. BayLynx is capable of supporting solutions for 1, 2, 5, 10 and 25GbE, later 56Gb IB and 4, 8, 16 and 32Gb FC. Envemio leverages standard NIC controllers, FPGAs and CPUs to provide its new networking and monitoring platform. The BayLynx architecture accelerates, scales, and rightsizes I/O, protocols, direct API drivers and in-line analytics. The advantage of this approach allows servers to provide front-panel I/O for a variety of vertical markets and technology segments that require expanded networking capabilities.

Products description
The I/O Internet controller cards BayPort, based on Intel i350 ASIC, plugs into storage drive bays in standard 2.5-inch NVMe bays and can me mixed with HDDs or SSDs. They are available in dual and quad-port configurations with the choice of RJ-45 CAT 5/6 or SFP cage options.

Envemio’s OpenPort Manager enables IT managers and systems developers to use analytics and drivers to bypass technology from a single console. It provides management integration for OEM frameworks and open systems orchestration tools such as OpenStack and lower level driver tools for specific applications such as data plane development kit (DPDK) for telcos.

BayLynx architecture can also incorporate in-line analytics engines such as SOCs, FPGAs, CPUs and GPUs.

Users can leverage the NVMe bay form factor to provide end point intelligence, line rate analytics, protocol termination and software defined features for new computing models.

Envemio was at NVME Solutions Lab during Flash Memory Summit, providing a preview of its Ethernet modules for NVMe-enabled drive bays in NVMe-capable servers.
