Bill Gervasi VP of Hardware Engineering, Xitore

Xitore,gervasiXitore, Inc., designer of high performance solid state flash storage systems, announced the appointment of Bill Gervasi as its VP of hardware engineering.

Gervasi’s career highlights include 19 years at Intel where he was systems hardware designer, software designer, and strategic accounts manager. He subsequently was with S3 where he was a graphics architecture specialist and at Transmeta as memory technology analyst. Most recently, he was senior technologist at Netlist, VP of DRAM technology at SimpleTech (sTec/HGST, a Western Digital company), and VP of engineering at US Modular driving unique memory module configurations.

He has been involved in the definition of Double Data Rate SDRAM since its earliest inception. He has served on the JEDEC board of directors and chaired committees for DRAM parametrics and small form factor memory modules during the development of DDR1 through DDR5. He was also responsible for the formation of the JEDEC committee on SSDs and is active in the deployment of non-volatile memory modules.

Gervasi holds ten US patents in memory and packaging design. He regularly conducts public speaking on memory technology at JEDEC, SNIA, MemCon, and Flash Memory Summit, and has performed expert witness testimony in several major patent cases.
