IBM Data Engine for NoSQL offers a new edition with an integrated CAPI-Flash card: The new integrated flash configuration delivers a CAPI card with flash modules on the card that eliminates the need for an external flash subsystem, as is the case with the current offering.
A new solution based on an integrated CAPI-Flash card is available for NoSQL database deployments.
This solution delivers the following value:
- The solution can be deployed on IBM Power System S812L, S822L, and S822LC servers.
- The maximum flash-based extended super-fast storage sizes supported on these systems are 1920GB (one card) on S822LC, 3840GB (two cards) on S812L servers, and 7680GB (four cards) on the S822L server.
- Multiple NoSQL ISVs will be enabled to leverage the integrated CAPI-Flash capability.
Key prerequisites
The integrated CAPI-Flash card is supported on Power S812L, S822L, and S822LC servers only.
The following are required:
- CAPI activation feature
- Bare metal servers only, no virtualization support
- Ubuntu Linux 16.04
