… Ken Barth CEO, Catalogic Software

Succeeds Ed Walsh.

Catalogic Software, barthCatalogic Software, Inc., in-place copy data management (CDM), announced that its board of directors has elected Ken Barth, a member of Catalogic’s board of directors since its inception in October of 2013, as president and CEO effective July 1, 2016.

He succeeds Ed Walsh who has stepped down as Catalogic Software’s president, CEO and board director, effective June 30, 2016.

In assuming the role of CEO, Barth’s primary mission is to enable Catalogic to accelerate its growth rate, and expand its leadership position in the CDM market.

He has over 20 years of management leadership experience in the technology industry. The founder of TekTools, Inc., he served as the CEO and president of the company from November 1997 until January 2010. During his tenure, the company developed and brought to market the KAWA and Profiler products. KAWA, a Java Integrated Development Environment, garnered more than 50,000 users worldwide before the product and the development team was acquired by the Allaire Corp. in November of 2000. Profiler, an IT Infrastructure Monitoring and Reporting suite, grew to over 1,000 customers prior to its acquisition by Solarwinds in January 2010. From December 1993 until October of 1997 he helped to found and build Micromuse, Inc. from a U.S. startup to a publicly traded company.

Ed has been a valuable contributor to the Catalogic team, and has done a fantastic job establishing Catalogic as the leader in ‘in-place’ CDM,” commented Barth. “Under Ed’s leadership, Catalogic established our flagship product, ECX, as the only solution that enables holistic CDM across the customer’s entire IT environment, including cloud environments, by leveraging the customer’s existing storage and virtualization infrastructure. Our ‘In Place’ CDM strategy is sweeping the market and I intend to continue moving Ed’s strategy forward.  On behalf of the board and the company, I want to thank Ed for his many contributions to Catalogic Software.”

Ken is the perfect person to assume the role of CEO and lead Catalogic into the future,” said Walsh.  “As an active and valuable board member, Ken has a deep understanding of Catalogic’s operations and the market that will help propel the company forward.”

“Ken is an accomplished executive with a deep understanding of our business, operations and the strategies we are implementing. At Catalogic, customer response has been overwhelmingly positive, this solution is exactly what they want and now with our newly released support for Oracle and SQL we are well poised for future growth,” said James Gellert fellow board member.
