JetStor FC SAN RAIDs From AC&NC

From 12 to 64 bays, support of self encrypting drives

Advanced Computer & Network Corporation (AC&NC) has introduced its line of JetStor FC SAN storage systems to provide customers with security, performance, scalability, and value.

Their support of Self Encrypting Drives (SEDs) safeguards data at rest, making them for users with security requirements such as healthcare providers and federal, state, and local government agencies. With 16Gb FC interfaces and featuring dual active controllers for HA, the JetStor FC SAN arrays also target such applications as video editing, CCTV, VTLs, and disk-to-disk backups.

“With so many organizations struggling to protect their data, our new FC SAN arrays are a timely addition to the JetStor portfolio,” said Gene Leyzarovich, president, AC&NC. “By using password-protected SEDs that conform to Trusted Computing Group (TCG) specifications, users diminish threats like theft or tampering with minimal impact on service levels.

JetStor products includes:

To meet a broad range of needs, the arrays range in size from 12 bay thru 64 bay units. They support as many as 256 drives for scalability as well as the latest 10TB HGST, Inc.‘s drives. Moreover, the 824F/FD systems support 2TB SSDs for high-speed.

JetStor solutions are deployed by customers in all major industries for a variety of applications, including serving as platforms for virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix XEN, and KVM) and VDI.

Bringing functionality and efficiency to SAN
The JetStor solutions offer a host of capabilities to improve the performance and availability of SAN deployments. They feature DataBolt Bandwidth Optimizer technology for balancing faster host and slower SAS or SATA devices. They support Clone disk, which allows users to add larger disk drives to the RAID set that have already been created. Their use of SSD automatic monitor clone (AMC) extends the lifetime of SSDs. The devices will spin down idle disks to lower power consumption by 20-50%, increasing drive longevity and reducing heat output and ownerships costs.

Their fan modules will dynamically adjust their rotational speed when the controller detects any temperature changes inside the chassis or HDDs, thereby avoiding overheating and reducing noise during operation.

The JetStor FC SAN arrays support RAID levels 0, 1, 10(1E), 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60, and JBOD.

The JetStor platforms will be available in the UK and EMEA from company’s partner, VSPL (Vector & Scalar Products Ltd).

Having supported JetStor solutions for over 15 years, we’re eager to offer these cutting-edge FC SAN arrays to our customers,” said Quentin Gadd, manager, sales and business development, VSPL. “They’re perfect for building, maintaining, and expanding SANs reliably and cost-effectively.
