Enhancements of EMC Digital Media Workflow With Partners

Including 4K, IP-based broadcast and multi-platform delivery solutions

EMC Corporation announced four media workflow enhancements for content creators, television and sports broadcasters and content delivery providers.

With an understanding of the media and entertainment industry, the company and its ecosystem of collaborators enable customers with options to help achieve success in a fast-changing environment. 4K production formats, leveraging IP and cloud technologies, deploying on-demand video services, and collaborative editing are all driving the demand for storage capacity, simplicity, bandwidth, and faster file access.

Recognizing these shifts, EMC is teaming up
to announce following at NAB 2016
:

  • Advances in uncompressed 4K workflows with Pixspan, Aspera and NVIDIA – EMC, Pixspan, Inc., Aspera Technologies Inc., and Nvidia Corporation are bringing uncompressed 4K workflows to IT infrastructures, advancing digital media workflows with full resolution content over standard 10GbE networks. Customers can now achieve savings and performance increases of 50-80% in storage and bandwidth throughout the entire workflow – from on-set through post to final assets. Artists and facilities using creative applications for compositing, visual effects, DI, and more can now work faster than ever before with camera raw, DPX, EXR, TIFF and Cineon files. Content can be safely stored on firm’s Isilon scale-out NAS for shared collaborative access to project data in the data center, around the world, or to the cloud.

  • Channel playout with Imagine Communications – The company and Imagine Communications Corp. bring live channel playout with the Versio solution in an offering with firm’s converged VCE Vblock system and Isilon scale-out NAS storage system. Company’s technology and Versio, Imagine Communications’ field-proven, cloud-capable channel playout solution, help to enable broadcasters to securely fulfill channel play-out across geographically dispersed network operations to help engage customers with content tailored to their respective operations.

  • Remote and collaborative editing with MXFserver -Utilizing MXFserver software and Isilon scale-out NAS to deliver storage as well as a platform for industry-leading editing applications, creative professionals can edit in high-resolution from remote locations while media resides in a central site, such as the main studio. In addition to remote editing, all MXFserver collaborative editing products was also be on displayed during the show at firm’s booth.

  • Cloud-based multi-platform content delivery with Anevia Anevia Software and EMC enable telco and media organizations to offer a CloudDVR service to access and view recorded content on virtually any device at any time. This allows organizations to scale up to petabytes of content and millions of users. The booth demo will show Anevia’s ViaMotion Plus software delivering live content to a tablet using Isilon scale-out NAS.

The company works with thousands of organizations in the media and entertainment industries, spanning post-production, animation, and VFX broadcast, pay TV, and subscription video on demand. Customers include Lightstorm Entertainment and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM).
