… EMC Expands Reach For VCE Hyper-Converged Offerings

EMC Corporation announced reseller agreements with Dell, Inc. to provide a set of customers access to its broad portfolio of hyper-converged offerings from VCE, the converged platforms division of EMC, including the VCE VxRail appliance family, the VCE VxRack System 1000 and VxRack Node.

The VCE hyper-converged appliances and systems provide Dell customers with more choice to achieve their business goals through the hallmark benefits of the VCE portfolio – increased agility, simplified operations and lower risk.

The VxRail appliance family is a hyper-converged infrastructure appliance jointly engineered with VMware, Inc. and is integrated, preconfigured, and pre-tested for VMware environments. VxRail Appliances brings together the best of EMC and VMware including EMC rich data services and systems management capabilities with VMware’s hyper-converged software that includes vSphere, vCenter Server and VMware Virtual SAN all in a single product family with one point of support, and with an entry list price starting at $60,000. Scale capacity and performance and non-disruptively up to 64 nodes (16 appliances) per cluster, allowing you to start small and grow incrementally without up-front planning. All-flash configurations deliver up to an 8X boost in performance.

VxRack System 1000 represents a transformational, software-defined path for customers to move from physical SANs to hyper-converged engineered systems that can scale from tens to thousands of nodes using EMC ScaleIO software. The pre-engineered, pre-integrated RackScale fabric with top of rack and spine switches enables predictable performance at scale. These systems are purpose-built to enable enterprises and service providers to support traditional datacenter workloads with scale capability and cost optimization.

For customers looking for a build your own approach, the VxRack Node bundles EMC ScaleIO with standard x86 servers, enabling customers to deploy a software-defined architecture. This simplifies the process of buying and deploying ScaleIO for software-defined, block storage and maintains a high degree of flexibility while still receiving an enterprise support experience.

EMC’s broad converged infrastructure portfolio helps customers deliver cloud and mobile-ready IT services to their businesses, including the only portfolio that can natively replicate between VCE core data center and edge infrastructure for consistent operations. VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software supports all VCE systems including VxRail Appliances for a complete view of all VCE resources from the core data center to remote and distributed locations.
