Dell: Fiscal 2Q16 Financial Results
Sad historical situation in storage before acquisition of EMC
By Jean Jacques Maleval | December 23, 2015 at 2:46 pmDell didn’t reveal its financial results since 2FQ14 as the company became private.
Last figures were published for the three-month period ended August 2, 2013.
The most recent ones correspond to the quarter ended July 31, 2015 or 2FQ16 and confirm all the continuing difficulties of Dell in storage suffering since four years with decreased revenue from as much as 9% to 15% Y/Y.
Here is the comment of the company for this most recent period: “In storage we saw decreases in net revenue from the prior year due to a reduction of overall market demand, but we continue to make investments in our storage offerings and are optimizing our go-to-market sales and marketing capabilities to generate growth in the business.“
Sales in storage were down 9% for the most recent quarter at $557 million and also decreased 9% for the six-month period at 1,1 billion.
These results prove that these days no storage giants are able to rebound in a stagnant global worldwide storage market. Why the merger of Dell and EMC will change this trend?
Adding the figures of most recent quarters of Dell and EMC, their combined storage revenue is decreasing quarterly at $4.518 million.
