This release includes the following enhancements:
- Add multiple virtual LANs (VLANs) under a cloud group, which helps to secure three-tier applications on the cloud.
- Purchase backup and restore capability and DirectLink connectivity via an online self-service portal.
- Set up your backup and restore capability in a data center different from the one used for your operating workloads.
- In addition, the General Parallel File System (GPFS) pattern, required for HA DR (HADR), is enabled on PureApplication Service.
PureApplication Service is an off-premises cloud application platform that helps to accelerate and simplify the repeatable deployment and lifecycle management tasks of enterprise middleware workloads such as IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM Business Process Management (IBM BPM), IBM Mobile, IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM Commerce, and IBM Analytics. Combined with PureApplication System, PureApplication Service delivers hybrid cloud capabilities by enabling to run the same enterprise workloads either on-premises, off-premises, or both.
With this PureApplication Service release you can purchase and configure backup and restore or DirectLink connectivity by using an online self-service portal. Additionally, you can isolate backup and restore to a data center different from the one used for your operating workloads.
