NetJapan, Inc. Europe announced it is giving away free licences of its vStandby AIP Unlimited instant availability solution.

vStandby AIP creates a virtual standby machine that offers instant DR when disaster strikes. The software uses your ActiveImage Protector backup images to create and maintain a virtual standby replica of your original server on a Vmware, Inc.‘ ESXi host.

This standby machine can be booted as a fully-functional server ins, thus providing instant switchover capabilities in case of failure of your source machine. When used in parallel with company’s ImageCenter LE for offsite replication, vStandby AIP can offer you instant offsite DR.
