Dan Warmenhoven Board’s Director, Cohesity

Former NetApp chairman and CEO

Cohesity, Inc., in hyperconverged secondary storage, announced the appointment of former NetApp executive chairman and CEO Daniel Warmenhoven to its board of directors.

As a renowned technology and storage industry executive with a history of driving growth and customer innovation, Warmenhoven brings a wealth of strategic market guidance to Cohesity’s leadership team. As a new board member with deep understanding of the storage industry, he will leverage his technical knowledge and experience to accelerate the company’s growth and success in the secondary storage market.

warmenhovenDaniel Warmenhoven brings decades of storage industry experience to the Cohesity board. He served as the CEO of NetApp, the Fortune 500 storage and data management company, from 1994 to 2009, and as executive chairman from 2009 to 2014. Under his leadership, NetApp grew to become a multibillion-dollar company and a recognized market leader in networked storage, a concept the company pioneered. He led the company’s initial public offering in November 1995. He has also received the Morgan Stanley Leadership Award for Global Commerce, was named one of the 50 Most Powerful People in Networking by Network World in 2006, and won the National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2004. He is a director of Bechtel Group, Inc. and Palo Alto Networks. In June 2007, he received an honorary degree from Santa Clara University for his dedication to global business and technology leadership, and in 2001 BusinessWeek named him one of its Top 25 Managers for the year.

Warmenhoven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, with honors, from Princeton University.
