The GSS offering solutions are built on:

These solutions offer easy-to-order, robust, factory-built configurations supported by Lenovo.

This announcement includes new machine types, models, and SEO numbers for the Lenovo GPFS Storage Server (GSS) product line. The GSS portfolio is expanding to include new 60-slot JBOD models 2 with 8TB SAS drives and existing 200GB SSDs. Each of the new Lenovo GSS JBODs is a 60-slot, 4U disk enclosure, with a 6Gb/s host interface. These JBOD models are only offered already populated in a fixed-drive configuration. The GSS solution is sold as part of the Intelligent Cluster portfolio via the x-config configurator.

Two new, fixed-configuration, GSS JBOD models:

  • Lenovo GSS 60-slot JBOD (58x8TB SAS HDD)
  • Lenovo GSS 60-slot JBOD (58x8TB SAS HDD+2x200GB SSD)

The new Lenovo Storage 3.5-inch HDD have 8TB capacity, 7,200rpm spindle speed, and an NL-SAS (Near Line-SAS) interface.
