Crossroads StrongBox NAS Integrated With DDN GRIDScaler
For creating complete active archive solution
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 27, 2015 at 2:33 pmCrossroads Systems, Inc. announced that its StrongBox NAS solution can be integrated with DataDirect Networks, Inc.‘s (DDN) GRIDScaler Parallel File System Appliance.
The combination creates a complete high-performance to active archive solution, and allows customers to realize a combination of performance and efficiency. Earlier this year, Crossroads announced StrongBox integration with DDN’s MEDIAScaler solution optimized for use in the media and entertainment industry.
The joint solution has been highlighted during the 27th annual SC15 conference on HPC, networking, and storage at the Austin Convention Center where Crossroads presented the integrated technologies at the DDN booth on November 18.
The combined offering provides a solution from storage to tape-based archiving, empowering the most cost-effective data preservation. By deploying the GRIDScaler parallel file storage solution with StrongBox for archiving, organizations gain storage performance with enterprise-grade data protection and management features.
The solution masters the complexity of data management by providing highly available information access, simple data management, and complete protection.
Features include:
- Performance scalable to hundreds of GB/s coupled with petabyte storage capacity
- Multi-copy policy to create one or more file copies on separate tape media
- Tape export for offsite protection and data portability
- 24/7 support – delivered and integrated by big data experts
“By integrating the StrongBox appliance from Crossroads with DDN’s GRIDScaler and GS7K appliances, we have unlocked the long-term economic value of tape for deep archives,” said Molly Rector, CMO, DDN. “The solution offers end-to-end data protection throughout the entire lifecycle of data.“
“We are pleased to work with DDN to empower our joint customers to meet their ever-growing data management challenges,” said David Cerf, EVP of strategy and business development, Crossroads. “The integration offers the industry’s best solution for online, nearline, and archive storage at the lowest cost.“
