Bekim Protopapa SVP Sales for Americas, Unitrends

Unitrends, Inc. announced Bekim Protopapa as the company’s SVP of sales for the Americas.

He will leverage his more than 20 years of sales leadership experience at both private and public high-tech companies to boost visibility for Unitrends’ cloud-empowered data protection and DR offerings, increase customer acquisition and drive revenue growth.

Bekim is a highly focused sales executive who strongly believes in the value of training, defining concrete processes, managing metrics and building a predictable business model,” said Kevin Weiss, Unitrends’ president, CEO and COB. “He’s a strong leader with a proven track record of motivating and managing top performing employees. Additionally, Bekim has extensive experience in building and managing channel sales organizations. Given his work ethic, leadership skills and expertise, I have no doubt that he’ll make an immediate impact on our channel-driven sales.”

In his role as the GM for North America, he doubled year-over-year new and upsell revenue while leading a 100-person team spanning sales, marketing, channel, business development, tech support and customer service. Prior to Mimecast, He was the president and CEO of Cymtec Systems, Inc., a network security appliance vendor. Before that, he worked as the area VP at Logitech International. He has also served in various sales leadership positions at companies including Blue Coat Systems, Inc., BladeLogic, Inc. and NetIQ.
