Expanded Alliance Between Trend Micro and VCE
To secure hybrid cloud
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 20, 2015 at 2:46 pmTrend Micro Incorporated, in security software solutions, has joined the VCE Select Program, to bundle Trend Micro Deep Security with the VCE converged and hyper-converged infrastructure systems, offering customers and partners security solutions for easier consumption.
Trend Micro Deep Security has received both Vblock Ready and VCE Validation Ready certifications. With this step, VCE and Trend Micro deepen their alliance and commitment to customers and partners to strengthen cloud security.
“By joining the VCE Select Program, VCE and Trend Micro can offer customers a seamless experience securing their cloud and data centers, allowing them to focus on business objectives rather than infrastructure compliance and security,” said Partha Panda, VP of global channel and strategic alliance, Trend Micro. “The close alliance with VCE confirms our commitment to deliver best-in-class security solutions to our customers as they are adopting our joint solution to secure their enterprise workloads.“
“Customers are increasingly looking for tested and validated security solutions for private and public clouds that complement VCE converged infrastructure solutions,” said Rael Morris, director of technology alliances, VCE. “We work with Trend Micro because of their leadership and commitment to cloud and data center security and years of joint innovation with VCE, VMware, SAP, and other market leaders.“
“A tested and certified solution and a partner who is committed to cloud security are the two main decision criteria for customers when moving to the cloud,” said Steve Fey, president, Proxios. “Combining the simplicity of VCE systems with Deep Security, the leading cloud security solution from Trend Micro, is a formula our customers can rely upon. I am pleased to see the two organizations build a stronger partnership as it reaffirms our choice and will only benefit even more customers.“
The combination of VCE converged infrastructure solutions with Trend Micro Deep Security
provides customers and partners with advantages, including:
- Easily building, securing and scaling enterprise-grade applications, such as SAP
- Automating the security for VDI deployments and enabling enterprise-grade scalability
- Rapidly deploying secure hybrid cloud deployments with layered unit-level protection, unified policies and single-pane-of-glass management across private and public clouds
- Addressing key compliance requirements for PCI 3.1, HIPAA, NIST, SSAE-16, FedRAMP and others, using a single security platform.
Certified as the first Vblock Ready content security solution in 2012, Deep Security provides security for physical, virtual and cloud servers from a single integrated platform. This tightly integrated security solution features both system and network security controls for instant-on protection of virtual workloads. It defends against network threats with host Firewall and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and protects against vulnerabilities such as Shellshock and Heartbleed. Additionally, it simplifies and automates application lifecycle from deployment to decommissioning, with automated security controls.
VCE Vblock Systems are a converged infrastructure that can be rapidly deployed and lower IT costs because they are pre-integrated, pre-tested and pre-validated IT infrastructures that combine compute, network, storage, data protection and virtualization technologies from Cisco Systems, Inc., EMC Corporation and VMware, Inc., delivered as a single product with unified support. The VCE VxRack Systems are a hyper-converged infrastructure comprised of self-contained units of servers and networking leveraging software-define storage that are well-suited for the growth of next-generation applications – enabling support of a growing number of use cases with built-in resiliency and less stringent availability and performance requirements on infrastructure.
