Coho Data Delivers DR for Enterprise Virtualization

Coho Data, Inc. announced version 2.6 of its DataStream software, which integrates with Vmware Inc.‘ Site Recovery Manager.

This release brings company’s users DR, failover and failback, augmenting the rich set of existing enterprise storage features that users have come to expect from company’s products.

In addition, the company has advanced its software defined networking functionality with support for a variety of enterprise network topologies. This functionality allows for integration and storage-network convergence for responsive storage performance that is unparalleled in the industry today. Company’s software-defined network engine provides native support for the use of Link Aggregation (LAG) across multi-hop enterprise networks. As a result, customers are able to utilize enterprise networking functionality while using company’s network integration to achieve dynamic HA and levels of aggregate network performance.

This release offers management integration with LDAP and Microsoft Active directory, allowing the company’s data management interface to be managed with the standard enterprise tools without requiring any additional credential management. Since company’s storage platform is fully programmable, these extensions for authentication also apply to the rich set of REST APIs that company’s customers take advantage of to automate provisioning and monitoring.

As with all of company’s software releases, this version of DataStream is available for free to existing customers and comes bundled with company’s storage appliance platform for new users. All software features are built-in and are included in the base software license for an appliance-like experience.
