Coupled with the support for video transcoding and hardware acceleration, users can enjoy a better, smooth viewing experience of their rich multimedia collections.

We are glad for Qmedia to be one of the streaming channels in Roku Channel Store,” said Dylan Lin, product manager, Qnap. “The Qmedia channel provides our users an additional option to browse their media collections on TV, no matter if it is DLNA compliant or not.

The company’s NAS supports DLNA Media Server to perform as a powerful streaming machine, and the Qmedia on Roku platform streams media content from company’s NAS via DLNA protocol, allowing users to enjoy their media collections on TV through HDMI-out. Integrating the Media Library from QTS, the Qmedia leverages the same user interface to provide users with consistent browsing experience.

Consumers who use Qnap NAS with support of real-time transcoding can enjoy media content without constrains. Coupled with hardware acceleration feature, users can enjoy a improved transcoding performance for a faster and smoother viewing experience.

The free Qmedia app is available in the Roku Channel Store. To activate Qmedia on a Roku device, company’s NAS requires QTS 4.2 or newer version.
