Artec OS 5.1 for EMA and VSTOR Systems Soon Avaiable

This version will be available from November, 17, 2015 to all eligible EMA and VSTOR systems via an automatic update.
In addition to additional security features and improvements, AOS 5.1 introduces Case Management. Case Management is an optional module that makes it easier to handle legal disputes and provides more efficient information management for audits.
This update to the current main version branch (AOS 5) includes numerous enhancements that are based on customer feedback.

Case Management module, which is available as an option, can support organizations facing legal disputes, financial audits, or internal investigations. These events usually require large amounts of data to be searched quickly, and evidence to be saved in a legally compliant manner. Case Management provides efficient access to all electronic data and ensures that no relevant information can be deleted.

Security feature allows users to specify PDF passwords for Scan to Archive Enterprise jobs. All PDF documents created as part of such a job can be viewed and downloaded normally, but printing and editing become restricted by a password prompt. This form of standardized DRM protection provides additional security for the contents of documents. This feature is available on request for a one-time activation fee.

PST Creator, an optional app for creating offline archives and converting ZIP exports to PST files, was updated to include an informative indicator for the time remaining to complete a conversion. This allows users to see an estimate of how long it will take the app to complete its task.

Customers with an active Full Managed Service contract or Artec Direct cloud can benefit from several enhanced monitoring features introduced with AOS 5.1. After activation, diagnostic information, such as disk drive temperatures, current memory use, the amount of archive documents, etc. can be submitted to the company in regular intervals in order to receive system health monitoring. Customers benefit from more exact predictions about future storage requirements and can rest assured that their systems are monitored for constant availability.

To allow very large ZIP exports to complete successfully, the company also removed an internal timeout in AOS 5.1.
