This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 6, 2015 at 3:44 pmContinuum Managed Services LLC has upgraded its fully managed backup and DR platform, Continuity247, available to MSPs.
The new features, based on feedback from MSP partners after Continuity247’s initial launch, include instant restore for virtual workloads, the choice of hardware or software RAID and desktop support. MSPs continue to enjoy predictable pricing with flexible packages, and with the fully managed option with support from company’s Network Operations Center, they can take advantage of SoftLayer for cloud-based workloads.
“With Continuity247, Continuum offers a fully managed BDR platform that combines the reliability and security of IBM cloud with a cost-effective solution that delivers better margins for MSPs,” said Michael George, CEO, Continuum. “Our predictable pricing and full range of packages are what today’s MSPs need to offer their clients a tailored BDR solution to manage their businesses. This new release is based on feedback from MSP partners after an exclusive launch to them earlier in the year. They were very clear in their additional needs, and we are delighted to deliver these new features to new and existing partners. Our partners should anticipate continuous improvements in all of our products, as we greatly value innovation and utilize it to maintan our market leadership position.“
The Continuity247 fully managed option is supported by the company’s NOC where certified professionals proactively monitor, troubleshoot and remediate any problems to ensure backups continuously run 24x7x365. The simple monthly billing model with no annual contracts and range of packages, including local, solo, complete and flex, streamlines budgeting and better aligns with actual business needs, while the pooled storage supports immediate scalability to handle varying workloads.
“The updates to Continuity247 are designed to let MSP partners address a distinct and fast-growing opportunity,” said Carl Brooks, analyst, The 451 Group. “End users are eager for better and faster options for true backup, DR and BC solutions in the cloud model. Continuum’s use of IBM cloud as a backend ensures that security, reliability and compliance are built-in features of the platform.“
Cloud storage via two redundant IBM Corporation‘s cloud data centers in the U.S. ensure security, reliability and availability of MSP customer data. The data centers are ISO 27001 and ISO 27018 compliant and operated by certified security and IT professionals. This directly addresses data latency concerns and helps MSP customers, especially those from the financial services, government and healthcare industries, to comply with strict regulatory requirements. The price, security, sustainability and performance of large cloud providers, such as IBM, cannot be matched by smaller, inexpensive private cloud providers.
“We see Continuity247 as an accelerator to help get our customers’ data to the cloud faster, safer and in a more reliable way,” said Charles Love, director, services and cloud operations, Big Sur Technologies. “Once our customers’ data is in the cloud, we envision a day where we can cross reference that data with other cloud solutions out there and give a customer a far better experience than they ever imagined before.”
The company has announced a special promotion for its Vault BDR customers and will convert any existing Vault appliances to Continuity247 at no cost.
