Veeam With Office in Beijing, China

With Joy Lu has country manager

Veeam Software, Inc. announced the expansion of its international operations to include an office in China.

Located and headquartered in Beijing, this new branch will provide a gateway to existing and future business partnerships in China.

According to International Data Corporation, China is the second largest country in the AsiaPac (excluding Japan) region for data protection and recovery software which saw growth of over 8% year-on-year in 2014. The China market is expected to be worth about $120 million by 2018.

Joy LuTo lead Veeam’s expansion into Northern Asia, Joy Lu has been announced as the country manager for China. In this role, she is responsible for establishing and growing Veeam’s business in the region. She will report into Julian Quinn, Veeam’s VP for Asia and Japan. She brings with her more than 20 years’ executive experience within the technology sector. She has spearheaded the introduction of international organizations’ within the China market. Prior to joining Veeam, she was the GM for North China at CommVault, where she was one of the first employees in China hired by CommVault to set up the company’s business operations and channel program. Before CommVault, Joy held senior executive roles within Symantec/Veritas, HP and NeuSoft Group Ltd. Joy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Shenyang University of Technology.

China presents a huge opportunity for Veeam and Joy’s extensive experience in representing a brand providing disruptive technology in this market along with her knowledge of cloud technologies, meant she was a natural choice for the position. This is the era of the Always-On Business,” said Lu. “The pressure to deliver the requirements of being an Always-On Business will drive IT leaders to re-think their availability models. Network agility and reliability will come under the spotlight as cloud adoption continues to gather momentum, but Availability will become a strategic concern to business leaders.”

To mark the expansion into China, Veeam hosted its first ever VeeamON Tour Asia in Beijing and Shanghai; a half day event providing an avenue for Veeam to demonstrate to key and new partners how to build a profitable and compelling offer to address customers’ needs for the ‘Always-On Business’. At the event, the years’ top performers in China were recognized for their sales excellence and contribution to Veeam’s growth in the region.
