Computacenter Adding Load DynamiX to Portfolio
To provide storage performance insights to European IT organisations
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 28, 2015 at 2:50 pmLoad DynamiX, Inc., in storage infrastructure performance validation, has announced a partnership with Computacenter UK plc, an European provider of IT infrastructure services.
The partnership will enable enterprises throughout EMEA to rely on Load DynamiX performance validation solutions to make more intelligent storage purchase and deployment decisions: eliminating guesswork and helping them both ensure performance and minimise storage costs.
Computacenter, which has been providing IT infrastructure services for almost 35 years, will be adding the suite of Load DynamiX products and services to its portfolio. Load DynamiX enables storage architects and engineers to optimise the performance and availability of their storage infrastructures, while reducing their overall spending on tier 1 storage by up to 50%. The Load DynamiX platform combines a storage I/O workload modelling application with powerful purpose-built load generation appliances that enable customers to simulate their production workloads in a pre-production test environment. This empowers IT architects to assess the performance of flash, hybrid, and software-defined storage systems and to identify performance limits under a variety of load conditions.
By working with Load DynamiX, Computacenter and their customers will be able to test the performance of proposed storage systems, validate configurations, efficiently conduct vendor POCs of proposed deployments before they are placed in the production environment.
Computacenter has deployed the Load DynamiX performance validation appliances in its Hatfield Solutions Centre, a large multivendor testing facility in Europe. The centre provides a secure non-production environment for testing, proving and staging storage solutions.
“When it comes to storage performance, Computacenter can now provide the critical data needed to ensure optimal investment and deployment decisions for our customers. Working in partnership with Load DynamiX, we can help organisations size and select the most cost-effective solution based on their workloads to ensure that they minimise risk and achieve the expected ROI,” commented Ian Goodfellow, head of data optimisation, Computacenter.
As storage performance validation is becoming an essential component of every large storage procurement and deployment, Load DynamiX and Computacenter can help IT organisations determine storage requirements and identify the optimal storage approach while developing ROI models based on projected storage cost savings.
The two companies completed their first major engagement together for a large UK-based financial services company. In this engagement, they helped the customer evaluate flash and hybrid storage products from seven different vendors to assess their performance, scalability, and failure scenarios in running Oracle-based application workloads typically found within the bank. The eye-opening results are helping the customer make informed, data-driven decisions about their future storage deployments.
“Computacenter has strong customer relationships and a proven track record of delivering superior storage assessment, design and integration services in EMEA. After a successful engagement on our first major project, we look forward to working together to help other customers obtain a deeper understanding of how storage performance affects deployment decisions.” said Gavin Tweedie, EMEA operations director, Load DynamiX.
