Kaminario Utilizes FreeStor With K2 All-Flash Arrays

To satisfy migrations and multi-vendor environments

FalconStor Software Inc. announced that Kaminario Technologies, Ltd has leveraged its FreeStor software defined platform to enhance its K2 All-Flash Array offering, providing enterprise data migration and multi storage vendor replication features that meet the customer requirements of datacenter ecosystems.

Kaminario’s K2 v5.5 all-flash primary storage array features home grown native array-based asynchronous replication, based on K2’s native and mature snapshot capabilities, giving users instant benefits at both primary and DR sites with K2 deployments. Kaminario enables customers to implement an all-flash data center at both production and DR sites.

Kaminario’s home grown replication delivers a superior replication solution between K2 arrays. For customers deploying Kaminario in conjunction with other storage arrays FreeStor enables data migration and DR capabilities.

In today’s complex multi-vendor datacenter ecosystem, applying the most scalable and capable all-flash arrays with the most-effective and capable software-defined storage platform enables customers to better meet the evolving needs of enterprise storage,” said Eyal David, VP of business development, Kaminario. “FalconStor provides a key accelerator to enter the enterprise marketplace by supporting seamless migrations and multi-vendor environments adding some key features on top of our already impressive flash arrays.  The ability to quickly and easily migrate workloads onto the K2 allows us to simplify customer adoption of the K2 solution.

FreeStor combines horizontal platform architecture with the ability to leverage new storage options. The result is greater efficiencies, reduced downtime, lower costs and improved simplicity. By offering FreeStor technology as part of its solution, Kaminario is able to deliver enterprise customers price/performance flash without impacting their business through FalconStor’s array-to-array synchronous mirroring technology. When adding new K2 flash arrays into legacy data centers with multiple storage vendors, FalconStor’s migration capabilities allow data mobility across platforms, even within a single application stack to deliver appropriate storage capabilities to workloads at hand.

The best way to make Kaminario’s K2 All flash array more disruptive is to leverage data services that optimize the control, migration and storage of business-critical information in multi-vendor environments,” said Gary Quinn, FalconStor president and CEO. “In such environments managing data with FreeStor means greater simplicity, tighter control, maximum efficiencies and lower costs. Offering these benefits through FreeStor’s single, converged platform empowers organizations like Kaminario with the ability to quickly and easily support a broader set of environments and use cases at a lower cost and with unique levels of flexibility.
