Permabit Technology Corporation, in data reduction technology, announced thinkASG, a provider of IT consulting and solutions in Southern California, has joined the company’s partner network of solution providers, VARs, and distributors, bringing Permabit’s Albireo SANblox appliance to the IT marketplace.

SANblox is a data reduction appliance for FC-attached storage that pairs Permabit’s deduplication index with its HIO/s compression technology. It delivers data reduction for flash, hybrid or HDD storage products across a wide range of applications, including virtual server, VDI, copy data, database (OLTP and data warehouse), analytics and big data environments.

SANblox can be deployed in a matter of hours for storage savings in all-flash, hybrid, or HDD environments. With inline data reduction, storage savings from deduplication and compression are realized while increasing effective capacity and reducing costs. SANblox deployment flexibility also enables selective use of deduplication and/or compression on data stores, enabling users to choose the data reduction techniques that best meet their needs.
