CE shipments grow on increased gaming demand, enterprise HDDs soften for both performance and nearline, while desktop and mobile HDDs increase ahead of seasonal PC builds

- 2.5″ Mobile HDDs: Despite weak PC builds earlier in CQ3, the quarter finished off strong with the release of new Windows 10 machines and builds for CQ4 holiday sales. For the quarter, mobile HDDs increased roughly 2 to 3 million units to around 46 million HDDs.
- CE HDDs: CE HDDs: Shipments of CE HDDs for game consoles usually peak in the third calendar quarter and in 3CQ3 2015 lived up to expectations. Combined with stability in other CE categories, total shipments were up approximately 4 million units to around 25 million HDDs in the quarter.
- 3.5″/2.5″ Enterprise HDDs: Enterprise HDDs: Both performance enterprise and nearline (capacity) enterprise HDDs fell sequentially, for the second straight quarter. For CQ3 2015, though, the nearline (capacity) HDD shipments dipped.
