All-Flash-Array by Zstor at 0.93€/GB

Based on the use of data center class SSDs, the new 48-bay SSD system AJ248F from Zstor GmbH opened low-cost but high-performance all-flash solutions for application in high available server environments within data centers.

With a throughput of up to 10Gb/s and a read performance up to two million IO/s, the flash array meets the requirements of centralized flash storage. These values are achieved through the use of high performance SATA SSDs, operating via LSI/Avago Databolt technology with 12Gb SAS performance bandwidth.

The 48-bay 2U rackmount system with up to 92TB total capacity is available from now and a price of €0.93/GB of flash memory is reached.

The IT managers of data centers are requesting high-performance storage systems that are also optimized with regard to investment and operating costs. The AJ248F represents a cost-effective alternative that meets the requirements not only with the needed redundancy in high available environments, but also in terms of system connectivity and performance. So the AJ248F fits into existing environments, because the connection to standard server systems uses high-performance 12Gb SAS interfaces.

Individually tailored to the request of the available IT-structures new or existing servers can be deployed and used. Based on the free choice of the centralized computers, accessing to the AJ248F, transfer rates up to 10Gb/s and up to 2 million IO/s are reached depending on configuration. The AJ248F supports Windows Server 2012 R2 Storage Spaces and can be used also in open storage environments with Linux, NexentaStor or VMware.

AJ248F – certified for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Storage Spaces
The AJ248F is optimized for use in Windows Storage Server 2012 R2. Here the SSD array works as ‘Shared Storage’ for the connected scale out file server within a server cluster, creating a centralized, high available storage system for dedicated as well as virtual environments. It is certified by Microsoft for the operation under Windows Server 2012 R2 and tested specifically for Windows Storage Spaces.

Data Center SSDs gives optimized price/performance Ratio
For use in the AJ248F, the SSDs out of the data center class are certified and prepared by Zstor for use in high available environments. Based on a close relationship to SSD manufacturers the latest available technology is used. Zstor SSDs are based on the 3D V NAND MLC standard and are specified for use in data centers. The endurance reaches 3.6 DWPD (drive writes per day) with a MTBF rate of > 2 million hours.

All flash array up to 184TB optimized for performance and capacity
The SSD system will be assembled individually according to the customer requirements and optimized for performance and capacity. Recommended product configurations start from 23TB up to 92TB when using data center SSDs with 1.92TB usable capacity. In the future the total capacity of the Zstor AJ248F as 48-bay 2U rackmount system will be increased up to 184TB, after new enterprise SSDs with 3.84TB become available.

The AJ248F with dual, redundant I/O modules as 2U rackmount system individually equipped and configured are available. Equipped with 92TB, a retail pricing plus VAT is estimated with about €0.93/GB. The arrays carry a 36-month warranty including a free replacement of components during servicing. A five-year manufacturer’s warranty is offered on the SSD.
