Lite-On Assigned Two Patents

SSD and sensing voltage setting, portable memory storage device

Solid state storage device and sensing voltage setting
Lite-On Technology Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (9,129,698) developed by Zeng, Shih-Jia, Fu, Jen-Chien, Wu, Yu-Shan, and Chang, Hsie-Chia, Hsinchu, Taiwan, for a “solid state storage device and sensing voltage setting method thereof.”

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A solid state storage device and sensing voltage setting method thereof are provided, and the method includes following steps. A predetermined read voltage of the memory cells is adjusted to obtain a plurality of detection read voltages. The predetermined read voltage and the detection read voltages are respectively applied to a plurality of memory cells in order to read a plurality of verification bit data. A plurality of statistical parametric values between the predetermined read voltage and the detection read voltages adjacent to each other is calculated and recorded according to the verification bit data corresponding to the predetermined read voltage and the detection read voltages. An optimized read voltage is obtained according to the statistical parametric values.“

The patent application was filed on January 22, 2014 (14/160,566).

Portable memory storage device
Lite-On Electronics, (Guangzhou) Limited, Guangzhou, China, and Lite-On Technology Corp., Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (9,129,070) developed by Chen, Sheng-Kao, Chen, Ching-Hui, and Wang, Hung-Chih, Taipei, Taiwan, for a “
portable memory storage device.”

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A portable memory storage device includes a housing and plural memory modules insertable into the housing. Each memory module includes a module shell, which has a module body and a positioning mechanism, and a memory member connected to the module shell. The positioning mechanism is disposed on the module body and is exposed from the housing. The positioning mechanism of a first memory module abuts against a front opening-defining edge, and the positioning mechanism of a last memory module abuts against a rear opening-defining edge, such that the plural memory modules are positioned in the housing. The memory module may be removed from the housing when the positioning mechanism is depressed.“

The patent application was filed on March 8, 2013 (13/790,725).
