The 2U Ultra SuperServer integrates NexentaStor, Nexenta Systems, Inc.’s Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS) platform combined with 2U SuperStorage featuring HGST, Inc.‘s Ultrastar SSD800MH.B and SSD1600MM performance flash-based storage delivers cluster solutions in 19, 38, 76 and 115TB configurations.
OpenSDS, designed for enterprise performance provides unified file (NFS and SMB) and block (FC and iSCSI) storage services and robust data management functions for maximum data integrity and HA.
The all-SSD solution supports the most demanding mission-critical applications in physical or virtualized infrastructure environments.
“Supermicro’s best-in-class server, storage and networking solutions optimized for enterprise, data center and cloud scale environments drive business growth and innovation,” said Wally Liaw, Sr. VP, sales, Supermicro. “Collaboration with Nexenta and HGST offers choices to our customers who are looking for high-performance all-flash SDS solutions and this highlights our strengths in advanced technology integration for high performance data workloads of any scale. This unified storage solution provides customers a scalable high IO/s storage infrastructure that delivers performance, reliability and cost effectiveness as well as ease of management with robust automation features.“
“Nexenta is unrvaled in the industry as the only pure software-only provider of SDS for all platforms, stacks and workloads,” said Tarkan Maner, chairman and CEO, Nexenta. “For businesses to scale with the exponential growth demands of data and analytics the industry needs to evolve from appliance-based storage to the dynamic flexibility of software-defined storage. Our collaboration with Supermicro and HGST on this new all-flash solution opens the door for organizations to accelerate business applications and dramatically increase performance, visibility and control across their storage infrastructure and lower both CAPEX/OPEX to reduce overall TCO.“
“With decades of proven expertise, HGST is the de-facto market leader of high-performance and high-reliability enterprise SAS SSDs,” said Renate Quigley, SVP, product marketing, HGST. “Organizations are contending with both a growing data deluge and the need for instant data accessibility to drive real-time insight. Our collaboration with Nexenta and Supermicro on this new, all-flash SDS solution delivers the acceleration, reliability and scalability required to handle today’s demanding enterprise and cloud scale storage requirements.“
