IBM XIV Storage System Gen3 Hardware Integration license for IBM Spectrum Accelerate

XIV Storage System Gen3 now includes support for Spectrum Accelerate software licenses with XIV Storage System Gen3 hardware. This new offering is a choice for large ELA customers as it enables management of all software licenses for deployments that are built with Spectrum Accelerate to be combined under one ELA, including those for XIV Storage System Gen3.

In order to support this offering, a new software program ID (PID) and corresponding feature code have been created and should be ordered instead of the regular XIV Gen3 software PIDs, 5639-YYB and 5639-YYC.

Key prerequisites

• This offering only applies to new XIV Storage System Gen3 purchases.
• As a prerequisite to any order of this offering, the customer needs to have prepurchased and unassigned perpetual Spectrum Accelerate licenses.
• Ordered XIV Gen3 hardware Machine Type and Model needs to be 2812-214 (XIV Gen3 HW with 3 years warranty) with feature code 0020 (HW integration license for SA indicator).

Supported hardware configurations are consistent
with those of existing XIV Gen3 offering with following restrictions:

• Non-CoD full systems only (15 modules, no MES, no CoD)
• 4TB and 6TB drives only (no 1TB, 2TB, 3TB support)
• SSD option – SSD or 800GB (no 400GB support)
