Platform9 and SolidFire Deliver Simplified OpenStack Experience

With guaranteed performance to KVM and vSphere environments

Platform9 Systems, Inc. and SolidFire, Inc. have partnered to integrate SolidFire’s all-flash scale-out storage systems with Platform9’s OpenStack-as-a-service solution.

Platform9 Managed OpenStack enables the use of existing and new virtualized servers to power private clouds in minutes, while integrating with SolidFire storage for guaranteed application performance.

Enterprise users and service providers are the largest beneficiaries of the joint Platform9 and SolidFire solution, which simplifies next generation datacenter. Customers seeking a way to manage both KVM and vSphere environments with guaranteed performance to each workload can do so utilizing Platform9’s OpenStack-based solution and SolidFire’s industry QoS.

Complexity of deployment and maintenance are the biggest inhibitors to ubiquitous adoption of OpenStack,” said Sirish Raghuram, co-founder and CEO, Platform9. “Platform9 and SolidFire are working together to not only simplify OpenStack deployment, but also enable efficient consolidation of mixed workloads across vSphere and KVM.

The Platform9 and SolidFire integration provides customers with a straightforward point-and-click interface that automates the setup and provisioning of SolidFire’s all-flash array in a Platform9 managed cloud. With full support for KVM and vSphere environments, the Platform9 SolidFire solution gives customers flexibility in choosing their virtualization platform while ensuring they can confidently consolidate multiple workloads onto SolidFire’s scale-out storage platform.

We polled over 350 attendees in a webinar and found that time to value was the most important consideration when deploying OpenStack clouds,” said Dave Cahill, VP of corporate development and strategy, SolidFire. “With Platform9 and SolidFire, customers now have a simple way to implement OpenStack that seamlessly fuses current technologies with next-gen features and requirements, dramatically simplifying consumption of cloud while maintaining workload flexibility.
