MatrixStore Nearline Storage Certified for Grass Valley USA Startus Workflows

To archive and restore content

Object Matrix Ltd, a developer of object storage and archive systems to the media and entertainment industry, announced that MatrixStore, a nearline storage platform, has been certified in GV STRATUS (MAM) workflows, from Grass Valley USA, LLC, a Belden Brand.

Digital media production life-cycles require the ability to archive vast amounts of high resolution assets in a permanent archive or nearline storage system. The solution is to have an extended user interface coupled with content archiving capabilities. The openness of the GV STRATUS video production and content management system facilitates a choice of integration with mainstream archiving solutions, including the popular MatrixStore archive platform, offering a robust toolset and efficient archiving workflows.

The unified GV STRATUS framework with the Grass Valley K2 system infrastructure and MatrixStore storage platforms offer a complete toolset to archive and restore content between Grass Valley K2 storage and MatrixStore nearline storage.

Our customers continue to push us to not only enhance the speed and functionality of our product portfolio, but to also integrate with best-in-class technologies from companies like Grass Valley, whom they also rely on in the production process,” stated Nick Pearce, co-founder, Object Matrix. “Working with Grass Valley in the process of certifying MatrixStore in GV STRATUS workflows has been an entirely positive experience. Their teams have shown an agility and propensity to work towards satisfying customer and market needs.

MatrixStore is renowned for being a trusted, scalable and secure private cloud platform that is much more than just a file system. Certification with the impressive GV STRATUS platform enables organisations to keep content at their fingertips so that they can exploit the value of that data as and when required. Collectively, Object Matrix and Grass Valley are focused on solving the many challenges faced by organisations needing to collect, collate, process and distribute file-based content.

In line with our openness and integration strategy for GV STRATUS, we are pleased to see a growing number of third-party technologies integrate seamlessly with our tools to offer a wider range of options for our customers,” commented Boromy Ung, VP, digital media and workflow, Grass Valley. “Thanks to our work with Object-Matrix, we can provide users with an effective method to securely backup their media assets from within the intuitive GV STRATUS user interface.
