IIJ Europe Powered by iomart’s Backup Technology

UK Cloud company iomart Group Plc has announced that IIJ Europe Limited (IIJ Europe), has selected its backup specialist Backup Technology Ltd (BTL) to deliver enterprise cloud solutions in EMEA.

The partnership, which gets underway immediately, is a driver for IIJ Europe, whose parent company is Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ), as they look to establish a dominant place in the European and African markets for the provision of enterprise cloud services.

Backup Technology will provide strategic licensing, sales and technical support for its public and private Asigra, Inc.-based cloud solutions which IIJ Europe will incorporate into its cloud solutions’ offering to larger organisations.

IIJ Europe is an owned subsidiary of Internet Initiative Japan, a cloud provider in Japan. IIJ Europe has ambitions to replicate IIJ’s success by providing IIJ GIO – their enterprise-ready cloud service – to the European market. IIJ GIO is a modular offer, based on a tried-and-tested platform, without the lock-in of a traditional private cloud or the risk and instability of a public cloud environment. IIJ Europe will offer their cloud service featuring BTL via partnerships in the channel.

BTL specialises in Asigra cloud backup, an industry software platform for online backup. BTL protects over 15PB of data on behalf of its customers and has a track record in delivering projects for businesses, for instance, helping Pernod Ricard to centralise its previously fragmented approach to protecting data throughout EMEA.
