HyperCube Telecom Deploys Virtualized Private Cloud With FlashServer 2Ux4 From Winchester Systems

With four-node server and storage converged solution

Winchester Systems Inc., a storage solutions provider, announced that HyperCube Telecom, LLC, a subsidiary of West Corporation and a telecom solutions provider, deployed a virtualized private cloud based on FlashServer 2Ux4, a four node server and storage converged solution.

With four independent Intel servers in one 2U enclosure, FlashServer 2Ux4 cuts cost, reduces rack space and saves power. It is well suited for server consolidation, for high density, general purpose server environments and for deploying converged infrastructure or hyper-converged solutions.

According to Aubrey Roberts, senior IT systems engineer, HyperCube, products from Winchester Systems are: “Easy to use, dependable and come with great ongoing support… They just work.

The FlashServer 2Ux4 is a four node server and is an integrated product that offers high density servers and storage combined into a converged solution. This server configuration provides a simple way to provide multiple servers and local storage in a single enclosure. One engineered, high quality, built-to-last server replaces four separate 1U or 2U servers – at lower cost flashServer 2Ux4 combined with the company’s FlashDisk RAID Disk Arrays and FlashNAS ZFS File Servers enable IT managers to scale out servers and storage to economically meet a variety of server and storage demands.

This FlashServer high density solution cuts rack space, power and cooling by 50% to 75%. Greater power and cooling savings are possible using power profiles to optimize power draw. These contemporary servers work just like any other Intel server in your Windows, Linux and VMware environments.

FlashServer 2Ux4 supports 8Gb  and 16Gb FC, 6Gb and 12Gb SAS, 1GbE, 10GbE, 40GbE and 56Gb IB connectivity. A single unit provides four separate Intel servers each managed by GUIs that are IPMI v2.0 compliant.

Each of the four server nodes supports two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 family processors, 512GB of memory and up to six 2.5″ HDD/SSD disks to 2TB each. This enables up to 128 cores, 2TB of memory and 48TB of disk storage within a 2U form factor. Three PCIe Gen 3.0 slots per node offer external storage and networking. Optional FlashDisk and FlashNAS storage can scale to hundreds of terabytes for massive storage needs.

Four servers in 2U at lower cost than four 1U servers is a clear benefit. When combined with our field proven external FlashDisk and FlashNAS storage, it delivers a true converged solution,” according to Mr. Joe Sanzio, CTO. “Importantly, this converged solution provides a single point of contact for service and support.

Prices for FlashServer 2Ux4 varies with options but start at $5,000. Products are available and delivery is 2-3 weeks.
