Dot Hill Ultra56 AssuredSAN 4004 Array Joins Autodesk Storage Portfolio

Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced that Autodesk, Inc. will add Ultra56 4004 AssuredSAN array to its portfolio of company’s offerings for media and entertainment applications such as video post-production workflows.

With the ability to store up to 1.5PB of high-resolution video in a single array, the Ultra56 AssuredSAN 4004 delivers 2.3 times the capacity per rack unit and 42% lower cost per terabyte than a standard Dot Hill chassis configuration.

Unlike arrays offered by competitors, the Ultra56 AssuredSAN 4004 can stream up to 6,400 MB/s, or four 4K uncompressed streams of DPX 10bit RGB video content. It addresses 10bit 444 RGB uncompressed HD video workflows by supporting multiple edit suites with up to 15 simultaneous streams.

AssuredSAN 4004 storage systems deliver performance for sequential workloads required in deadline-driven, mission-critical effects and finishing work. AssuredSAN 4004 models , sustain multiple simultaneous streams of HD, UHDTV and even 4K compressed and uncompressed media enabling management of large media sets and complex workflows from acquisition to distribution. Incorporating company’s AssuredSAN 4004 storage controllers, the patent pending Ultra56 features platinum-rated power supplies, which deliver 94% peak efficiency for energy conservation. All devices are hot-swappable and the system is designed with two front removable device drawers for ease of service and maitenance.
