Dublin-Based Savenet Builds Cloud DR Solution for DMS Offshore Investment Services

Savenet Solutions Ltd, a Dublin-based cloud storage and DR company, has completed a DR solution for DMS Offshore Investment Services Ltd.

DMS is the in fund governance with more than 225 professionals representing investment funds with assets under management exceeding $330 billion.

DMS, headquartered in the Cayman Islands, required a remote DR solution that would enable them to recover their critical virtual servers with all their data intact within minutes in the event of any form of disaster. The solution needed to be able to expand quickly and to be managed, including daily monitoring and quarterly DR testing.

To fulfill this requirement, Savenet have designed and implemented a trans-Atlantic DR solution including hosted cloud servers for DMS that integrates with their onsite IT environment. The DR solution is built primarily using Zerto, Inc. and VMware, Inc.‘s vCloud Director.

Zerto provides enterprise BC and DR solutions for virtualized IT infrastructure and cloud. In the event of a full disaster, where the servers are all out of action due to a catastrophic failure like fire or a flood, the business can roll over to the cloud servers quickly. It ensures that DMS’ mission critical applications are always available to their users and customers, and can withstand any form of disaster; from a locally based minor system interruption or server failure, to a major disaster where their computer room is destroyed.

The project is valued at €200,000 over three years and took three months to implement.
