The company has teamed up with GB Labs to show the integration of its collaborative Avid editing tools with both Marquis’ Workspace Parking, the ‘set and forget’ DR solution for Avid workspaces first launched at NAB 2015, plus Project Parking, Marquis’ retrieve solution, at Broadcast Asia.

We have been working closely withGB Labs for a number of years,” confirms Tom Hassell, marcom manager. “Our collaboration and the integration of our solutions now means Avid facilities can have total control over their media files and video projects. The result of the integration is a seamless shared editing and archiving workflow that delivers considerable cost-savings and greatly enhanced productivity.”

GB Labs’ Avid editing tools for our Space units in combination with Project Parking enables supervisors to have a complete oversight of every project and each associated file, which is essential for storage management data security, project restoration and DR,” explains GB Labs spokesperson Ben Pearce. “For Avid workgroups this means that projects can be archived and restored very quickly and primary storage arrays can be managed far more efficiently. GB Labs’ fast networked storage is optimised for Avid sharing; its primary, nearline and tape-based systems sit on the same network for instant user access and very high speed data transfer.

“Thanks to the Marquis software,GB Labs’ Avid customers can immediately locate every project wherever it is stored on the network, recognize every duplicate file, manage redundant clips and easily transfer completed jobs to nearline or offline storage, ready to be restored as needed.”

With the new integration of Workspace Parking, it is also easy to to store the backup entire workspaces,” continues Pearce. “Individual projects or bins of older versions of projects can then be easily identified and restored to an ISIS or laptop immediately, providing a complete and rapid BC solution. We are looking forward to demonstrating these innovative solutions at Broadcast Asia.”
