Archion EditStor Omni Shared Media Storage System

Archion Technologies, Inc. introduced at NAB 2015 EditStor Omni, a new member of its EditStor family.

EditStor Omni provides advanced performance and functionality to meet the demanding post production workflows, including the demands of 4K, 5K, 6K and eventually 8K, at remarkably affordable prices.

Archion has demonstrated the performance and broad functionality of its EditStor family of solutions with Avid and Adobe creative tools at NAB 2015. In addition, Archion has showcased the Collaborate system for Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) and Anywhere workflows.

The latest and the powerful addition to the EditStor family of shared media storage, EditStor Omni is engineered to tackle nearly every bandwidth-intensive post production workflow. With available speeds of more than 4,500MBps, facilities owners can provide their creative teams with enough bandwidth to simultaneously play back, for example, up to four 4K DPX files, 23 streams of 5K (REDcam), as many as 200 streams of DNxHD 220 or other demanding combinations.

Omni’s advanced throughput engine and file system, combined with state-of-the-art storage architecture and patented technologies, ensure constant data flow for all content creation applications. EditStor Omni continues to extend its Ethernet-based protocols from 1GbE and 10GbE to include 40GbE and has the power to extend to future protocols, workflows and cloud-based systems.

Like EditStor ES and EO, Omni offers tremendous flexibility for creative professionals. Features include the ability to share over multiple protocols, the seamlessness of dynamically expanding volumes, automated data and volume replication, support for and compatibility with several user authentication methods, including LDAP workgroup and Windows Active Directory, and much more.
