100% Bookings Growth for MapR in Six-Month Period Ending March 31

MapR Technologies, Inc. announced over 100% bookings increase in the six month period ending March 31, 2015, compared to the preceding six months.

The MapR growth is spurred by its architectural approach to supporting big and fast data – to collect, store and process vast amounts of info on one cluster for continuous, real-time access.

To accelerate the adoption of Hadoop by organizations worldwide, MapR launched several key offerings in Q1, including free Hadoop On-Demand Training, in which over 10,000 developers, analysts and administrators enrolled in the first 30 days. MapR also introduced Quick Start Solutions to address commonly-implemented and high-value Hadoop use cases for customers to achieve faster time-to-value.

In a survey of MapR customers worldwide conducted in March 2015, TechValidate Software, Inc., an independent research organization, found that 96% of MapR customers run multiple use cases on a single Hadoop cluster, with nearly 20% deploying over 50 use cases on a single cluster. According to survey results, 73% of customers deployed new products or services leveraging the MapR Distribution and 59% benefited from reduced costs. Additionally, 72% of respondents cited the need for Hadoop to handle both big and fast data on a single cluster. The ability to deliver these required capabilities is a core strength of the MapR Distribution.
