Ricoh Assigned Patent

Ricoh Company, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, has been assigned a patent (8,982,400) developed by Hagiwara, Kenji, Kanagawa, Japan, for a “device management device and recording medium.”

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”In a device management device, a storage part stores device information pieces of devices on a network, an acquisition part acquires a device information piece of one of the devices via the network, and a detection part compares the device information piece with each of the device information pieces stored in the storage part, and detects at least one of installation, movement, addition, change, and disposal events with respect to the one of the devices. A transforming part transforms both identification information of the one of the devices and device information items corresponding to the detected event into data that enables an asset management device to manage the data. A transmission part transmits the data to the asset management device via the network.“
