Toshiba Adds 3TB 2.5-Inch HDD to Canvio External Range

Toshiba Europe GmbH, Storage Peripherals Division, becomes one of the world’s first companies to launch a 3TB 2.5-inch external HDD.

Expanding the level of storage available within its Canvio range, whilst still offering the same features, the company has developed increased 3TB storage capabilities within its Canvio Basics and Canvio Connect II 2.5-inch portable HDD offerings, as well as a 6TB version of its Canvio Desk 3.5 inch external HDD model.

With the Canvio Basics 3TB portable HDD users can store up to 856,500 digital photos, 789,000 digital music files or 2,460 downloaded digital movies at the touch of a button. The pocket-sized storage solution features an internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology, offering reassurance that all your essential documents, digital content and precious memories are kept safe and secure. The device is ready to use with Windows, without the need for software installation and can be used with traditional connections, found on older hardware.

In addition to the above mentioned features, the Canvio Connect II allows to remotely access to digital content on HDD directly from the PC, tablet or smartphone from anywhere. It comes preinstalled with remote access software, backup software and an NTFS driver, and is available in a range of colours. You can store everything in one place, keeping everything together and making it easy to organise vast collections. The Canvio Connect II comes with 10GB of free cloud storage.

The Canvio Desk 3.5 inch external HDD now offers up to 6TB of storage and is a suitable partner to your digital life. Utilising USB 3.0 technology, it offers a speedy way to store your essential data. It comes pre-loaded with NTI Backup Now EZ software to streamline the backup process, to offer added peace of mind that your data will be safely stored.

The Canvio Basics and Connect II portable HDDs will be available in 3TB models and from May the Canvio Desktop HDD will be available in a 6TB model. Compatible with Windows 8.1, 8 and 7, they benefit from USB 3.0, transfer rates of up to 5Gb/s and come with a 2-year limited warranty.
