OCZ (Toshiba) Assigned Patent
Mass storage using solid-state storage media and ancillary interfaces for direct communication between memory cards
By Francis Pelletier | March 19, 2015 at 2:29 pmOCZ Storage Solutions Inc., a Toshiba Group company, San Jose, CA, has been assigned a patent (8,949,509) developed by Schuette, Franz Michael, Colorado Springs, CO, for a “mass storage systems and methods using solid-state storage media and ancillary interfaces for direct communication between memory cards.”
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A mass storage system comprising multiple memory cards, each with non-volatile memory components, a system bus interface for communicating with a system bus of a host system, and at least one ancillary interface. The ancillary interface is configured for direct communication of commands, addresses and data between the memory cards via a cross-link connector without accessing the system bus interface.“
The patent application was filed on December 6, 2011 (13/311,723).
