Atto Shipping Storage Controller FibreBridge 7500

Atto Technology, Inc. announced that it is shipping the storage controller FibreBridge 7500.

Based on the technology introduced with the FibreBridge 6500, which storage companies have installed in thousands of data centers worldwide, the 7500 brings enterprise FC to SAS SSD/HDD storage with less than 4μs of latency, enabling applications such as shared storage and multi-site clustering.

The FibreBridge 7500 Storage Controller is an accelerated platform that allows users to build their own performance flash, hybrid or capacity storage using standard SAS SSD flash or HDD and direct attached JBOD storage enclosures. The fast acceleration architecture of 7500 has dedicated memory modules and data paths so commands won’t have to compete for shared system resources, further allowing more data transfers at faster transfer rates.

FibreBridge 7500 include:

• Serves as the key building block in a modular solution that forms a platform for building out a virtualized, software-defined data center for private cloud and DR solutions, all with a low cost of ownership.

• Up to 735,000 4K IO/s, 1,000,000 512b IO/s.

• Allows data mobility and redundancy via multisite cluster installations up to hundreds of kilometers apart.

• Enables users to manage storage infrastructures with advanced read ahead and write cache algorithms, robust error processing, email notification of errors and persistent error and trace logs to minimize downtime in the field during troubleshooting.

Complementing the FibreBridge 7500 is Atto’s 16 and 8GB/s Celerity family of FC HBAs, FibreConnect and Thunderbolt enabled Desklink Devices, which connect computer platforms to high-speed networks and storage infrastructures. With the addition of the FibreBridge 7500 Storage Controller, Atto further extends the range of storage and network connectivity products, all optimized to work together.

The FibreBridge 7500 storage controller is shipping, and is being qualified by select OEMs.
