This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 17, 2015 at 2:53 pmDigistor, a division of Sunland International, LLC, announced their Professional Grade Blu-ray recordable media.
A standard for professional-use, these next-generation optical discs are designed to meet increased demand for archival capabilities from soaring data volumes across multiple industries.
The Digistor Professional Grade Blu-ray discs, which are made in Japan, feature phase-change technology and an upgraded hard coating. These enhancements allow a disc to withstand greater changes in temperature and humidity when stored long term. Additionally, the hard coating creates a layer of protection against dust and water, and increases the overall durability of the disc.
The Professional Grade Blu-ray discs mark a advance in disc quality over current recordable media on the market. As a robust media for long-term storage of content, these discs feature increased inter-generational compatibility between different formats and hardware, ensuring that data can continue to be read even as formats evolve.
“Phase-change media adds increased resistance to the effects of UV light and aging, and we are very excited to promote this next-generation optical disc as a new standard for professional grade media for archiving,” says Murray Ellis, director engineering, Digistor.
