CUC Expands OmniLib Archival Storage Automation Lineup
With 100TB into Blu-ray library

Based on 200GB Blu-ray double-sided media, the modular design includes 100TB of Blu-ray optical storage per 4U library appliance, delivering a 50+ year TUV certified archive.
“It’s built for enterprise data center applications within Broadcast, Energy, Finance, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Surveillance and emerging Web-scale Application markets, to deliver significant benefits where data retention and durability of 7+ years is required,” said Paul Thurman, VP sales, CUC. “The OL500H2 is a fully integrated data center product that includes cache appliance, management server and software, network switch, rack power and scalable 4U Blu-ray library units of 100TB each, providing storage densities of up to 1PB per rack.“
Through its partnership with Hitachi-LG storage, CUC will continue to collaborate on providing OL500H2 metrics for regulatory-compliant, long-term data retention requirements. The 200GB blu-ray media and enterprise drive technology, offers improved densities and performance, while also lowering TCO. The OL500H2 is a cost-effective green alternative to legacy disk and tape storage that require a costly data migration every 5-7 years.
