IBM Software V7.4 for FlashSystem V9000

IBM FlashSystem V9000 Software V7.4 provides the new IBM FlashSystem V9000 with integrated management and the capabilities of FlashSystem V840 Software V7.4.

This release is installed on new orders of the IBM FlashSystem V9000.

New licensing capabilities simplify ordering and planning for external data virtualization, flash copy, metro mirror, and real-time compression capabilities by enabling IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller Software V7 (5641-VC7) and IBM System Storage SVC Real-time Compression Software V7 (5641-CP7) to be used on storage that is externally virtualized by the FlashSystem V9000.

Select ILIO products from Atlantis Computing, Inc. for Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp and VMware Horizon (Persistent and Stateless) will be orderable through IBM.

The combination of FlashSystem storage and ILIO optimization software delivers a solution to address the challenges of virtual desktop environments.

This integrated FlashSystem-ILIO VDI solution reduces the infrastructure costs of virtual desktops to below the cost of physical PCs, while delivering performance that is faster than a PC for consistently better-than-PC performance as projects scale.

Key prerequisites
FlashSystem V9000 Software V7.4 (5639-RB7) requires an FlashSystem V9000 Storage System (9846-AC2 and 9846-AE2, or 9848-AC2 and 9848-AE2). It is preinstalled on, and shipped with, these systems.
