IBM TS7650G With New Features for Remote Service and Support

IBM TS7650G supports new TSSC features.
IBM TSSC is a service tool that provides many service and support functions from a centralized location. These functions include error-initiated problem reporting, wellness checking, and remote services such as remote monitoring support, which are beneficial to both you and the service representative.
Main benefits of a TSSC include:
- Remote support enablement
- Faster data offload through broadband call home utilizing Electronic Customer Care
- Reduced repair costs
- Improved serviceability
- Better proactive maintenance
TSSC can provide remote support for many virtual tape storage product frames and unique attached tape systems. Examples of virtual tape storage product frames include IBM TS7740, TS7720, and TS7650G. Some examples of unique attached tape systems are IBM TS3500 and the 3592 Model C07 Tape Controller.
Key prerequisites
The TS3000 is used to complete the installation and follow-on maintenance service of several products. A TS3000 connection is mandatory at time of installation for TS7650G ProtecTIER gateway, 3958 Model DD5.
TSSC code 7.4.x, or higher, is shipped with the new TSSC features. Older levels are not supported on this hardware.
